Year after year InterNations does an excellent job of putting together the results of the Expat Insider survey. In its last edition, 15 thousand expatriates around the world participated, giving us extremely important data for those who are looking for a place to live in another country, among these, the best places to live.
On this occasion, we analyzed people's motivations for moving to another country, and these were the main ones:

| 11% | Was recruited internally by his employer |
| 11% | Sought to live in the same country as his partner |
| 10% | Was relocated by his current employer |
| 8% | Sought a better quality of life |
| 7% | Relocated for studies |
| 7% | Moved because of partner's work or studies |
With this information we can infer that most expatriates decide to move to another country for work and to be with their partner. This leads us to focus on the best places to live according to work-life balance, professional development and job security.
It should be noted that a requirement for the following list was to have a minimum response of 50 expatriates per location; something that only 66 cities were able to achieve.

- Hamburg
- Düsseldorf
- Frankfurt
- Stuttgart
- Dublin
- Graz
- Munich
- Stockholm
As you can see these 10 cities are located in the European continent, therefore, Government Institutions, Entrepreneurs and Human Resources Teams in other cities, should analyze what they are doing to obtain these results and how they could develop and implement strategies in their city, to improve their position or be part of the ranking.
