Last week we informed you of the "5 best cities to move to in Mexico" focusing on Quality of Life, Social Cohesion and Satisfaction Index with Municipal Services. However, we know how important it is where you are going to live and where you can work. Especially in this year in which the Mexican economy, and the world, has suffered many changes because of the COVID-19.
For this reason, we set out to create a top 5 city with the highest job offer expectations for the last quarter of the year, according to the "Job Expectations" survey conducted by ManpowerGroup.
1. Beautiful
This city located in the state of Sonora had a negative scenario in the ranking of last quarter obtaining the 10th place by the expectation of labor supply of -10%. However, for this last quarter of 2020, Hermosillo has a totally positive panorama with a hiring plan of +15% positioning itself in the 1st place of this ranking. Fortunately, the annual employment comparison will be +10%.
Hermosillo has different types of industry such as automotive, renewable energy, food and mining, so it is expected that the aerospace industry will grow in investment. All this without leaving behind the advantages that this beautiful city has in mobility, education, entertainment and housing.
2. Chihuahua
The second place is also taken by a northern city which, despite its bad number in the last quarter -8%, seems to indicate an increase of +12% in order intake, and +6% in the annual comparison at the end of the fourth quarter.
Therefore there is excellent news for all those looking to move to a modern city, with major industries such as mining, construction, electricity, agriculture and tourism.
3. Querétaro
Queretaro is a city that has shown stability in recent years and unlike the two previous cities, last quarter managed to avoid the negative number staying at 0% in the labor expectation, generating a recruitment plan for the last quarter of 2020 of +12% and +2% in the annual comparison.
It is important to mention that moving to this city not only includes a good job offer but also an exceptional quality of life as we mentioned in our ranking of the "5 best cities to move to in Mexico".
4. Mexicali
This beautiful border city in Baja California has a positive hiring plan for the last quarter of 2020 of +11%, going back to last quarter where it got -10%. However, this good number will help to close the year's comparison in the best way with a -5% that despite being negative we are sure that from this quarter on, labor expectations can continue to increase.
In Mexicali there is a large number of maquiladoras in the automotive, food and transport industries, without leaving behind the agricultural and tourism sectors. This expands the opportunities for those seeking to relocate to the north of the country, bordering one of the most important states of the northern neighbor, California.
5. Ciudad Juárez
The state of Chihuahua never ceases to surprise us with the second city in our top 5: Ciudad Juárez. Last quarter it had a labor expectation of -3%, but for this last quarter Ciudad Juarez has a hiring plan of +8% giving a positive number to the annual comparison of +2%.
In addition to its great advantage of having a border with El Paso, Texas, its main economic activity is the automotive, electronic and medical maquila. So you have a wide range of business possibilities for your professional development.
